While the northern hemisphere (or parts of it) longed for the romance of a white Christmas, here in Adelaide we had a red hot Christmas.
Usually it’s about the wine in South Australia, or about beach life and hot weather. This was about beer, and barbecue- but not the throw-a-couple-of- snags-on-the-grill-in-your-backyard type. It was a windy day for a barbecue by the lake but all the umbrellas were securely tethered- or so we thought… Without warning a huge gust came and something large and winged flew past my face. An umbrella roof bound. No worries though, as you can always rely on the practical skills of Aussies.
