Colour and community at the Glenelg Christmas Pageant. As the snow begins to fall in the UK, here as summer approaches it finally feels Christmassy. Local businesses, schools and clubs take to the streets in the annual parade that marks the beginning of the festive season. Elves, reindeer and nativity players are joined by samba dancers, brass and pipe bands, fairies, superheroes and surf lifesavers, and the long awaited appearance of the man in red. Maybe this year it will feel more like Christmas.
Such a colourful parade. Everyone seems to be getting into the festive spirit with all the bright costumes and dancing. Wonderful.

It was – and so many children taking part. A real community event that made me feel like Christmas – possibly for the first time since moving here. Thanks for your kind comments
