SWT_HM_ADL

Presented by Doctor D and Fergus Maximus

Following their sell-out premiere at the Adelaide Fringe 2021 Doctor D and Fergus Maximus return with their musical tribute to our city. Oozing fun and positivity, SWT_HM_ADL (Sweet Home Adelaide) is a joyous celebration of South Aussie life, experience and culture, part satire, part homage, from amusing trivia to the deeply personal. Original songs and stories from two award winning songwriters and their six-piece band encompassing folk, blues, rock and pop. Full of energy, wry observation, with a heady combination of nostalgia and optimism, they ask, “Is there a better place to live?”

Doctor D is a songwriter and blues-rock guitarist based in London and Adelaide. As a frequentvisitor to Adelaide and now as a resident his songs celebrate all that is quirky and fun about South Aussie customs and culture. He is a two time winner in the SCALA annual Festival of Original Music, his 2013 winning entry ‘Gulf of St Vincent’ being a highlight of the show.

Fergus Maximus is a soulful singer/storyteller/saxophonist whose melodic pop/rock songs embrace all the important things- love, loss, mistakes with wit, intelligence and fun. His debut album ‘Restless Soles’ is an anthology of short stories about characters with itchy feet- their foibles and struggles. SWT_HM_ADL is the first collaboration between these two seasoned artists.
