Starting from our home beach Glenelg, we planned a day of wine tasting and fine dining in McLaren Vale (we did this), but also ended up visiting four beaches in one day.

Two very dissimilar music festivals took place in Adelaide over the long Labour Day weekend. One was all tie-dye, dreadlocks and ale, the other was white wine spritzers, hipster food and high street fashion.
Being jet-lagged provided the perfect opportunity to watch the sunrise- and the dawn rush hour. Early morning is the busiest time of day- the esplanade is a superhighway for runners, joggers, cyclists and insomniacs; the beach is awash with strollers, paddlers, photographers, dogs, owners, beachcombers inspecting the morning sea harvest (today hundreds of cuttlefish bones).
