An expat Brit in South Australia
The whole trip was a surprise. We stayed in Laurel Canyon, the legendary hideout of seventies rock stars, in a house once the residence of Neil Young. A few houses down the road was the site of Frank Zappa’s barn, the epicentre of the Canyon community.
Part working harbour, part urban decay, part tourist destination (for maritime heritage and dolphins), part hipster paradise, partly incomplete renewal project, Port Adelaide hosted the Wonderwalls street art exhibition.
Even if you never visit art galleries or museums, you will find something to enthrall or enrage or inspire at MONA.
