It was a windy day for a barbecue by the lake but all the umbrellas were securely tethered- or so we thought… Without warning a huge gust came and something large and winged flew past my face. An umbrella roof bound. No worries though, as you can always rely on the practical skills of Aussies.

I had just entered the water and was busy acclimatising as the helicopter passed again. Seconds later, and before I could plunge in fully, the surf lifesaving dingy was hurtling towards me from the next beach down the coast.
