“It doesn’t feel very Christmassy.”
It’s hard when it’s a 30 degree blue sky summer day to embrace the symbolism of Northern Hemisphere festivity.
Just then we heard strains of music from outside.
“That’s not a recording.” Indeed it was not. It was the Salvation Army (or ‘Salvos’ in Aussie lingo) playing Christmas carols on our street. Neighbours came out to watch, new friendships made, the Christmas-ometer rose with our spirits. And the band played all the hits. Happy Christmas!
