Why take the ice bucket challenge when you could do the Cold plunge for those in need? This is a charity event to support the homeless run by Glenelg Rotary Club with the Surf Lifesaving Club in August (winter), described by a local newspaper as a “plunge into freezing water.” On the day it was about twenty degrees which, where I grew up in Scotland, would be considered hot. It’s all relative though and hats (and scarves) off to the participants. I think I’ll join them next year.
