First up for the season, Diamond Skies’ tight harmonies floated over the square melodiously. Excellent songs augmented by an outstanding cover of Liana La Havas’ Forget.

With influences of Lorde and King Princess and a vocal style reminiscent of Middle Kids’ Hannah Joy, Stellie and her band delighted the crowd with a confident and exuberant set. Heading back to the office afterwards must have been hard.

Food trucks and a music T-shirt sale completed a most enjoyable event in this UNESCO city of music. Next Music in the Square will be on 5 December.
