Each week Doctor D introduces the best of local original acoustic music: singer-songwriters, duos and bands – folk, blues, country, pop, Americana- in Adelaide’s oldest pub, the Edinburgh Castle Hotel.

17th July: SONGBIRDS –  female singer-songwriters special with internationally acclaimed country artist Susan Lily with emerging songstresses POPPI,  JAZ and Chloe Lilly Marie.

Susan Lily, international country singerWith a career that spans nigh on ten years Susan Lily continues to spread her vibes and name throughout the music world.  The songs she pens feel like they write themselves and just arrive out of nowhere in a spasmodic ethereal kind of way.  It’s hard to put an adjective to her actual style of song except to say they are melodic and up-lifting .  Susan likes the idea of crossing the boundaries of music genres and intermixing styles to create a well rounded experience for the ears.  She’s a little left of centre and likes to take her audiences on a journey of joy and fun, with a twist. A gift for entertainment and crowd engagement will see Susan Lily continue to grow her audiences across the country.  Her first love is the stage and her audience so when the delightful Miss Lily arrives on the stage you will know she is there. The lyrical larrikin will charm you with her heartfelt and engaging songs of love, life and having fun! Be ready for a memorable experience. www.susanlilymusic.com

  1. Never heard of Americana in Oz. Nice to know there’s a bit of a scene in Adelaide. A love for the stage sounds like a love for sharing and looking outwards towards others. Good luck with the music.
